At Yura, we are concerned about taking measures aimed at the efficient and responsible management of natural resources for the preservation of ecological balance. For this reason, thanks to efficiently applied technology, Yura IP has a lower carbon footprint, as its production requires less energy compared to conventional cement. It emits 50% less CO2.
We made the decision to be part of the Competitive Business Program promoted by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which recognizes the importance of sustainable management through the development of sustainability reports in supplier companies. This objective prompted us to work, alongside our suppliers, in defining the most relevant economic, environmental, and social issues, allowing for risk reduction and the enhancement of opportunities. Our suppliers were trained and advised by a specialized consulting firm, AC Sostenibilidad, who, as an implementing partner, supported them until the publication of their first Sustainability Report.
We received recognition as an anchor company during the 2021 Competitive Business Program organized by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), resulting in 06 of our suppliers presenting their first sustainability report. Likewise, in 2021, we developed and published our first Sustainability Report for 2020, for which we obtained the Materiality Disclosures Service seal from GRI.
